It could be either, but I think we writers are good at spotting foreshadowing. There's been very few stories (particularly with movies or TV programs) that have completely surprised me. I'm always happy when a story does that.

As far as I'm concerned, if a planet-destroying machine trained on pirated works (writing or art) made it; its not ethical.

Beyond that, if a character treats other humans with violent contempt (whether because they're a piece of shit to everyone or bigoted/ discriminate against particular marginalised groups) and they don't get killed off swiftly; I'll abandon the book. Looking at you GOT!

Absolutely wild that this movement already had nationwide protests this weekend and there's bupkis in the national media.

If you google "stop avelo" you do see local stations covering it.

This is the reason the protest movement needs as many as possible: we have to be everywhere all the time because of the cowardice of the corporate media.

Broken Spark, Chapter 9. It's killing me. Finding it hard to find ideas, even harder to give it any structure (not having any ideas doesn't help).

Just awful. I have to say, I've been self-publishing since 2022 and have not found a reason to regret it yet, but plenty of reasons (like this one & other publishers behaving badly -- or criminally) to be relieved that I did.

Don't plagiarize? (Looking at you, AI 🤬 )

I tend to support creative freedom, but I do think it's important not to betray your readers. For example, if you advertise a book in a certain genre those readers should recognize the book as such. If the story is a serial, finish it, & don't spring some unforeshadowed development on them.

Also, in general, don't glorify hateful behavior or hate speech.

Share your favorite fact about your story.

Fury's Gift is set 50 years after my first Modern Era Book (Woodspell) so 50 years after magery returned to the north. This means I got to have a lot of fun including "modern magery" (techno-magery) developments around Sharren City.

What do you want to work on this month?

My new release is out next month, so this month is for promotion, revisions from the copy edit I just got back, other publishing details, & general stress. I am also going to venture onto the itch site which several authors have recommended.
