I feel like, as a society, we are living through a similar scenario. Everyone is being polite, afraid of offending anyone or breaking decorum, despite clear signs that we're in the presence of a dangerous cult about to run amok.

@pixplz Informant would be my guess. No backpack or gear like other two arrestees. Brought out last so other arrestees wouldn't see release, but, oops, there was a camera present.

Here's video of the last two actual arrestees at this gate being marched to a police bus, a delay, then the very last occupier brought through this gate being released.
Perhaps there's an innocuous reason, but this person, the last "arrestee" brought out of #HamiltonHall through the gate at the bottom of stairs last night, was released on the spot.
Everyone else seen on this TV news live shot being brought out of the building by police was marched straight down the stairs and up the sidewalk to the police bus, but this person had her zip ties cut off and was released just before the nearby bus full of arrestees drove away.
Why was this person released and the others not?

US ‘quietly’ approved military sales to Israel since Oct 7: Report
The Washington Post reports that the United States has “quietly approved and delivered more than 100 separate foreign military sales to Israel since the Gaza war began on October 7, US officials told members of Congress in a recent classified briefing”.
All but a couple of weapons transfers were processed without public debate “because each fell under a specific dollar amount that requires the executive branch to individually notify Congress, according to US officials and lawmakers”, reported the newspaper.

Commanders in the Israeli military have in recent weeks begun instructing soldiers to set fire to residential homes in Gaza without the necessary legal approval, reports the Haaretz newspaper.
Soldiers have destroyed several hundred buildings this way, according to Haaretz, citing information provided by unnamed sources.

Both Israel and the US have paid lip service to a two-state solution for decades, which was enough to mollify pusillanimous US liberals, even though settlements continued to expand, Israeli violence increased, and no actual progress was ever made.
Now that Netanyahu is saying the quiet part out loud, basically yelling it in words and bloody deeds, with Israel showing its true face to the world, Biden thinks the same snow job will continue to appease the consciences of US liberals, who don't really cate about Palestinians anyway. Sadly, it just might.

Yesterday, Biden held a phone call with Netanyahu, the details of which were only vaguely clarified by the White House. In comments yesterday, Biden said that the Israeli PM was not opposed to “all two-state solutions”, suggesting that Netanyahu had shown contrition to the US position during the call.
Netanyahu then posted on Twitter/X today:
I will not compromise on full Israeli security control over the entire area west of Jordan – and this is contrary to a Palestinian state.

Several US officials, including White House national security spokesperson John Kirby, have called #SouthAfrica’s #ICJ filing accusing Israel of violating the UN Genocide Convention “meritless” and “unfounded”.
But last week Kirby told reporters that Washington has not probed the Israeli operations in Gaza for possible rights abuses despite being the chief provider of weapons to Israel.
“I am not aware of any kind of formal assessment being done by the United States government to analyse the compliance with international law by our partner Israel,” Kirby said on January 4.
Mondoweiss was on it, calling out the Hannibal Directive, in October, including an account of what looks like an IDF general hiding in a bunker calling in an airstrike on his own troops outside.

There were already reports of the IDF firing on hostages as Hamas fighters were bringing them back to Gaza on October 7, as well as multiple hostage deaths caused by the IDF during its war on Gaza, although it's unclear how deliberate or incidental those may have been at this point, to my knowledge at least.
It is clear that Netanyahu and his ultranationalist coalition have not placed a high priority on saving the lives of Israeli hostages. Their own people are merely collateral damage in their lust to eradicate all Palestinians. And that's not even to mention the three shirtless Israelis waving a white flag that IDF soldiers gunned down inside Gaza on December 15, although technically they were free and the IDF just shoots at anything that moves in Gaza.
