I remember as a kid basically making up my own Star Wars fan-fiction with Lego. I wonder if talking mini-figures who only repeat the same sounds and phrases might be a bit of a hindrance to kids making up their own stories.

Maybe, maybe not.

I mean, this is kinda cool, though it'd be a lot cooler if it where actually an open platform that could be customised, but sadly it doesn't sound like it is. For me growing up one of the main appeals of Lego was building my own creations, so a customisable 'smart-brick' with custom sounds would be a natural extension of that. I also wonder what kind of effect stuff like this has on kid's creativity. Good to know there's no AI though. The microphone would concern me if there's internet connectivity involved though.

I think I took this picture on the 24th, that candle is a lot shorter than that now.
