Successful & Beautiful Poster Presentations, Tina Lang

Scientific posters are an integral part of presenting your research. However, condensing all findings on just one canvas is truly challenging. This 1h crash course is designed for graduate and post graduate students. It covers the topics on reflecting on the message you want to get across, on how to design a beautiful poster and how to prepare a successful poster presentation.

What: include call to action (find out how to contribute)
When: use metrics to find when your community engages most, content calendar,
Posting a video is not enough, you need to get people to click, and then engage. Get a good thumbnail, that attracts attention and makes a narrative (he's lucky to be alive, that's illegal,...). Familiarity, Exaggerated emotions, use of contrast colours, and pattern disruption (when everything is trying to get your attention, the one that doesn't).

Too many choices also for the next bit of #collabw25 and I decided towards How do you ensure your science is seen, used and sustained? We are starting to an overview of Digital Marketing of your projects by Bethan Iley. Start with the W questions.
Why: set a goal, and their #SMART objectives
Who: define the personas you are aiming to
Where: internally managed (website), media, scholarly communities, specialised communities. Keep it relevant
How: tone and formality matches your goals and values
