@buffyleigh @avi_miller I can't hear the name of Geddy Lee without thinking about Pavement.

What about the voice of Geddy Lee
How did it get so high?
I wonder if he speaks like an ordinary guy?
(I know him and he does)
And you're my fact-checkin' cuz (aww)

The biggest curiosity of this bunch is the copy of American Stars ‘N’ Bars, which mysteriously includes 7 extra tracks (1 live & the rest “out-takes”). At first, I thought this was the usual expanded reissue stuff, but apparently it’s an unauthorized release put out by an outfit called Grim Reaper. This entry from Discogs is all I could discover about it — discogs.com/release/10089978-N — the actual CD doesn’t give any info except the track listing on the back insert.

I was up in Princeton yesterday & made the obligatory pilgrimage to Princeton Record Exchange, and, predictably, went a little overboard.

I’m most excited to have Another Side of Bob Dylan & Franks Wild Years, two records that have been trapped in Vinyl Limbo for far too long.

7 used CDs: (starting top-left) Neil Young, American Stars ‘n’ Bars; Matthew Sweet, Catspaw; Wooden Shjips, Vol. 2; Howlin’ Wolf, Change My Way; Tom Waits, Franks Wild Years; Bob Dylan, Another Side; & William S. Burroughs, Dead City Radio.

Happy Waste-Land Day!

On 10/16/1922, T.S. Eliot launched the journal The Criterion magazine, with the first appearance of his poem "The Waste-Land". It will be first fully published in book form by Boni & Liveright in New York in December.

Do not go gentle into that good night.
Put on an inflatable frog suit and rage against the dying of the light.
