Anyone can build. Show me someone who can fix and maintain. They're the unicorn rockstars.
@krutonium @nytpu HDMI can go a lot further if you get an optical cable, at least 300 feet.
Nothing more democratic than loaded hash and fistfights, amirite? (Maybe the squids would calm down after a short stack.) #Helldivers2
I want SSD makers to stop bragging about speeds and max capacities and start telling me when they plan to have $/TB competitive with HDD.
Surprisingly easy to see if Recall is enabled on a Windows endpoint and disable it if it is using a little Powershell. Rolled it out to all Windows systems in the household using Action1's MDM. #homelab https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/1g8m8g1/comment/lt0ebb1/
@bacon_avenger I cut those back by a week, but I also found around 12TB of data that Deluge had grabbed and Sonarr/Radarr had failed to clean up after processing.
It's normal to be able to clean up 20TB of duplicate/outdated data on your #homelab NAS, right?
TIL that since pin 9 of the VGA DSUB connector delivers +5V DC, this would actually happen with the right wiring. I love it when stuff works for the wrong reason.
How I feel about party conventions these days. #utpol
Life is so much easier once you decide to immediately put your tools back where they belong when you're done with them.
HOAs are for the exclusive benefit of the developer, not the residents. Change my mind.
"Muffin ain't gonna fill out your security questionaire" is the Bluey meets GRC content I'm here for.
HUGE #Helldivers2 update with weapon customization. This is gonna be a lot of fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7TURE5p5Ik
@ocdtrekkie I've convinced two employers now to pay for @runZeroInc because of the free tier.
One of my favorite #homelab things is when enterprise vendors offer a generous free tier. Rolled out Action1 to my Windows systems for MDM and patch management. Setup was very easy and patching a total breeze. Keeping 7 family systems updated was getting to be too much. Free for 200 (!) endpoints.
Unfortunately, only Windows and macOS for now, but they are promising a Linux agent Soon™️. Would be nice to single pane of glass all the things around here.
The biggest improvement that Microsoft could make to Windows is an easier way to migrate to a new PC. When I get a new Pixel, I plug in a USB-C cable to both sides and my stuff just shows up with minimal fuss.
FedEx, when you ask me if I would like to sign digitally, that doesn't mean "print out a PDF, sign it, and tape it to your door".
A+ queueing, Spotify. No notes.
Song of the day as I try and get this merge request to finally pass validation. https://open.spotify.com/track/4iDwrsZTRCB66XVYD2wDUW?si=e4a7ebba85784e80
