In this interview, former Google CEO said:
"We know where you are. We know where you’ve been. We can more or less know what you’re thinking about.”
Do you think Google has gotten better or worse?

Building a search engine index is a lot of work - and most of it is waiting! Luckily, once we get a solid index built, we'll be releasing it under a public-access API as well as a data export in SQL.
Does Google do that?

What are some problems you have with the current state of the internet? We'd love to get some input on problems everyday people are having :D

Someone will be auditing ChatterCottage for it's security - for now, you can access ChatterCottage at chattercottage.com and create an account. If anything turns up in the security audit, it will be handled immediately and pushed to production as soon as humanly possible.
Thank you everyone for your patience on ChatterCottage, I know things have been slow.
- Eridian
You may have heard about ChatterCottage already, but it's been in closed beta.
Today, we will be updating the production version to no longer require an invite code. This means anyone can create an account.
More information about this is coming soon!
When dealing with cybersecurity, there are many factors to worry about, and a lot of things can go wrong very quickly. What is your best advice for handling user credentials?
Do you check their password with haveibeenpwned? Do you require complex or seemingly-random passwords? Do you leave users to their own devices?
Let me know what you do, I'd love to learn more about this ever-changing field.

We are cooking up something new! More details will be released soon - we can say it's a social media platform ;)

@Internxt Good pitch! I have one question for right now: When is email rolling out? Is this a "in a month or two" wait or a "end of year" wait?
Overall, looks like a very good alternative to Proton's suite :)
@Internxt Well well well, if it isn't a company on Mastodon. Love to see you here!
I've never heard of Internxt, but I would absolutely love to hear a pitch for why Internxt would be better than something like Proton or Tuta!
I'd like to move my company over to an encrypted suite, so if you have any articles or marketing material, send it my way ;)

Finally got this update from @Tutanota, now to just get my business email moved over to Tuta.*
* the post quantum encryption isn’t the reason for switching my business, I’ve just not had time to sit down and make the switch/transfer (I’m a one man band).
@cire901 It can be both for sure! Some themed instances don't always feature an all-new UI, though, which is why I made them separate.
@bemmesr The last sentence - This is how I feel about it. I know a lot of "metahosts" exist - self-hosting existing FOSS software with a custom skin and calling it good. I like the concept of metahosts, but the execution feels a lot like... theft. If I ever made a metahost, I'd be contributing upstream in some way... but still.
Thanks for your input.
- Eridian
Would you rather:
a) Use a service that themed and tied a bunch of FOSS projects into one cohesive package
b) Use a service that uses pre-existing standards (ie ActivityPub, Matrix, etc) but has an all-new UI
c) Use a service that is open-source but uses very few existing standards and is it's own thing
Why or why not?

@ber Thank you so much for checking! We are currently getting an idea off the ground - ChatterCottage.
It's a social media/chatting platform that focuses on real-time communication. It has some game-like aspects to it that we're looking to expand on, and all private messages are entirely encrypted using openPGP.js by Proton. We also don't collect a lot of metadata (I'm currently working to reduce all metadata as much as possible), messages self-destruct, and more.

@danilasch I see. I used Vivaldi for a short while, I think the browser is an acquired taste for some - I like minimalist, and Vivaldi (out of the box) isn't very minimalist.
I might give it another look - after all, I can always make it minimalist, that's the beauty of Vivaldi!
Thanks for the feedback!
