@Alkaris techies like us care about this but the vast majority doesn’t or isn’t even aware of what’s going on. Companies have invested in the MS ecosystem and are therefore unlikely to move away from it. The big move to Linux will only happen when every Windows update breaks (badly) and it becomes a nightmare to run. My prediction 8 or 9% by the end 2026. Let’s hope I get it wrong and it ends up being much more🤞

@cocaine_owlbear Then I have a good option for you. Opensuse! It’s both enterprise level and rpm like Fedora. Excellent rollback and security options. Available in upgradable point releases as well as rolling release.

@eu_os @rriemann as far as I understand EU OS is based on Fedora (US based). If the goal is to strive for digital sovereignty, why not base it on Opensuse (German based enterprise distribution) ?

@s @retrimental it runs on low spec machines with 2GB ram. Zorin has seriously been optimised.

@s @retrimental the pro is the paid version, core is a free one. To be honest, there’s not much difference. When you see how smooth Zorin works you’ll understand why I don’t mind that there’s an option for a paid version that supports the developers.

@libertyotf in other words the ease of use of Zorin OS, the structure of Qubes OS with your own GUI.
