PSA for people with the older (EU style) British passports - your passport's expiry data may not be quite right. My passport says it's valid for 11 years and expires next year, but it's actually only valid for 10 years *for travel in the EU* because Brexit.
If you have an old British passport - check the expiry date!

@klord And by "packed" I assume you mean "left completely empty" so that you can fill it up with goodies on the return trip?
I've spent months making a new browser demo engine (and a demo to test it) based around WebGPU. The thing has an editor written with Vue, and that editor connects to a backend server which handles the editing. This way, I get multiplayer editing but, more usefully, editor in one window and full-screen preview in another.
The one last scary task I had left was to build the stand-alone version (ie: without the editor) that can be distributed.
And all the scariness just went away - it took me about two hours to get the stand-alone version fully working 🥳
I'm pleased that I had the foresight to set this up properly in the first place - the engine is a completely separate node package that both the editor and the stand-alone use. And sometimes I manage to convince myself that I actually know what I'm doing 😇
Assembly here we come!
"The Colosseum - a magnificent structure, built to house fights to the death. Tens of thousands of living things met their end here - humans, lions, bears, elephants... all for the sport.. all for the enjoyment of the spectators.."
"Sorry to cut you off Kevin, but just to be clear - are you saying that the Colosseum _is_ or _isn't_ a suitable model for a bouncy castle?"
@kaneel Well.. yeah, I guessed that's the hope. But if you don't find it wonderful then what will be the next excuse to make you use it?
@kaneel Oh FFS. At least at the end of those two weeks you'll just be able to just switch back, right? Right?
I always have a soft spot for audio mixers, and this one is a lovely old boi!
@kaneel @breaque Yeah.. that would do it, but they don't seem to sell those any more. At least one of the other pads is a little sketchy also. So it's probably this, which is more than I thought :(
In the meantime.. hey.. 15 pads ought to be enough for anyone!

@breaque Yeah.. probably 100 dollars or so in parts from the one US company that still sells them. Plus whatever delivery and taxes on top. Not terrible 🤷
Waaah! It finally happened. After over 20 years of use, one of the pads on my faithful old MPC has died 😿
@Setok Hard agree
@Setok The wasp/sauna part of the story alone had me sweating :(
Yes yes neighbour's yappy dog, you can STFU now thank you 🙏
@totetmatt Wow that hits the spot!
