The strangest thing has been happening to my iPhone. I use the little magnetic puck that you can use to hang the iPhone on a MacBook and for the past few weeks, if it’s there the iPhone heats up A LOT! Almost as if the iPhone thinks it’s something to be charged and it’s acting as a charger. Weird.

@stooovie From my experience and memory, the beta to skip is beta 2. Beta 3 to 4 is around when it goes public, so in my mind the best beta to get in is 1 (if one really needs to) or 3.

Apple removed from macOS Tahoe (for now, as I'll definitely request it to come back) one of my favorite UI features, compact view for tabs.

I'm really proud to share with you a video I made: "Introducing the Fediverse: a New Era of Social Media" https://news.elenarossini.com/fediverse-video/

In this 4-minute video I explain what the #fediverse is to people not familiar with it, mentioning some of its great features and benefits (interoperability, no ads, no surveillance...) and I set it in contrast to the world of Big Tech social platforms. I argue that, with the rise of Big Tech oligarchs and the current political climate, there has never been a better time to join the fediverse.

I hope you will enjoy this video and that you will find it useful (maybe as a tool to introduce your friends, family, colleagues, school administrators, local government officials to it).

The fediverse has truly changed my life, making me a better, more empowered digital citizen. I am endlessly grateful for it, so this is my contribution to the cause ❤️

I am also incredibly thankful for the work of @samaaberg and @patel.riyen who helped me bring my vision to life with their amazing cinematography skills and their assistance throughout the process, providing brilliant feedback to the script / edits from the POV of fedi newbies.

Any friends out there with the new Switch 2? It’s my first time owning a Nintendo console since the Super Nintendo!

Seems like iCloud is getting some sort of metadata syncing updates. Wondering if there’s some under the hood more significant update.

@stooovie That’s odd, in my mind you can by duplicating the clip and applying the magnetic mask on the top layer. Then you apply effects to the subject on the top and the background in the bottom layer. Or maybe I understood the issue wrongly?

@_elena Added your server to mine and enabled redundancy. =) I don’t know when the server downloads the videos and offers itself as a peer, but hope it works. =)

@_elena @samaaberg @patel.riyen I can connect my Peertube to yours to help with the network strain and so on, so at least you get one more peer. Let me know. =)

Been saying this for awhile, but will repeat it for emphasis: If you love freedom but don’t care if it applies to everyone, what you actually love is privilege.

@macrumors It doesn’t even work from iPhone to iPhone. 😅 not sure if that’s because of Vodafone in Czechia or Apple, but I was never able to transfer and eSIM from on iPhone to another.

@abosio Sure, that as well, but doesn’t need to be one or the other. Both and many things have to be stopped. It is very true that the chain of succession is pretty bad, I’d feel pretty hopeless. That’s such a horrible situation. Hope the branches of power work as they were meant, to keep power in check.
