@Antonnewcombe I don't know if you've pressed anything with Press On in Middlesbrough, UK but I think you would really like their style - big focus on pressing for independent labels. It's a new plant but the commitment to QC is very impressive and the whole operation is clearly a labour of love.

They tried to lay a bit of that on in the (amazing) Fame studios/Muscle Shoals documentary while demonstrating without doubt that Rick Hall and the musicians WERE the magic.

I'm sure I will watch and enjoy the new Mary McCartney documentary about Abbey Road but, jeez, I wish people would lay off with the "magic within the walls" nonsense. Abbey Road was the amazing place it was because of the people who worked there and the structures which made it function. This also goes for Dave Grohl and his magical mixing desks.

The collapse of Twitter for (basically) self-inflicted reasons makes a strong case for building online infrastructure structured as a non-profit or public utility.

People rely on these platforms for public information, use them for democratic debate and many invest their livelihoods in them.

These platforms are too important to public safety, peoples’ livelihoods and democracy to leave in the hands of eccentric billionaires or the whims of stock markets.

@JayRayner You're probably way beyond this stage but if it's useful I did start compiling a list of small-ish UK venues with pianos. Some still have hire charges though. There's no sound quite like it.

@Petefrasermusic Rewatching the heist episode. Loads of music, loads of sound design, great editing - all just really, really well done.

@Petefrasermusic I found this episode (and the big heist one) EXTREMELY stressful to watch. Palpitations. Brilliantly put together. I feel like the lack of music to reinforce the tension building made it even more terrifying. But I'll have to rewatch - maybe there was music and I missed it due to being too engrossed.
