@leopardboy I bought some food from the bakery/deli as well!
Busy woman interested in #genealogy, American History, technology. Host of #genchat .
@leopardboy I bought some food from the bakery/deli as well!
Just a smidge of my trip to Little Poland in New Britain, CT today. #heritage
My latest FamilySearch full-text search find: my grandfather did his naval training at the Sampson base along Seneca Lake in upstate NY. He probably never knew that he was so close to where his dad grew up (Rochester) & that he still had aunts living there. #genealogy
And that's a wrap! Thanks for all your interesting court stories and tips! Next #genchat (Nov 29) is our LAST Open Mic on #genealogy related projects. What are we working on? See you then!
ooo....I can quote-boost/quote-toot now! I didn't notice that before!

@EllenInEdmonton I, too came over during that wave, though on a different instance. 🥂
This week I’ve been working on a mini #genealogy project: basically a quick tree for a friend. Come to find out: he & I are probably 9th cousins!
@wikitree thank you, WikiTree!

Almost done transcribing all the full text stuff I pulled this year, then it gets input. THEN I review my #genealogy research plans. Now I’ll have my holiday time wide open!
@Sharonbw Living in the city, I have no corn fields. But I understand having your field of vision cleared by autumn. The trail near my house goes along a river, yet the leaves block that view all summer. Now I get to see the river & sometimes different water birds!
#WikiTreeSymposium2025 Angela Breidenbach is discussing the ethics of sharing scandalous/embarrassing information in our family history. "Do no harm." A topic that always bears repeating. #genealogy
#WikiTreeSymposium2025 Metadata tip: download the free program Adobe Bridge to be able to add rich metadata to your #genealogy files: https://www.adobe.com/products/bridge.html
#WikiTreeSymposium2025 Maureen Taylor is talking about key points about metadata. Not your usual #genealogy talk, but very important!
#WikiTreeSymposium2025 I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again: learning #genealogy methods for different cultures is essential to expand your own research knowledge. Currently watching Linda Yip talk about Chinese research.
#WikiTreeSymposium watching Thomas MacEntee teach on using #AI to search & compile info on Internet Archive #genealogy books. Talk about #GenchatsCollide !
Enjoyed a little #DayOfTheDead dinner & margaritas at a local Mexican place tonight. I never realized how ancestors-focused the day was. I’m in for that! #genealogy
I see that #StandingStoneSunday is trending! Here is a mile marker outside of my office building. “IV MS TO NOR” likely refers to “4 miles to Norwalk”.
