How does it work? Every instance of PeARS can be considered a mini search engine for a single topic of interest, which is populated and curated by people like you. One beautiful day, when enough instances are alive, they will come together to provide a generalised Web search solution. Owned by you.

Little status update. We currently have 8 #search instances running with different versions of the code. We would like to be in a position to invite testers on 4 of those by the end of the month:
- one English instance dedicated to Big Tech and AI critique;
- one English instance for LGBTQ+ folks;
- one bilingual German/English instance dedicated to open source and open data projects;
- one bilingual French/English instance, topic TBD (Francophones, you are welcome to make suggestions).

In the United States, it is not broadly known that the fossil fuel industry quietly funds a national lobbying campaign that has introduced draconian anti-protest bills in at least 18 states. These laws threaten anyone protesting at an oil or gas facility with huge fines and serious prison sentences; some states even impose criminal liabilities on non-profit advocacy groups that support the protesters.
