Smart opinions definitely my own. The other ones will be blamed on sleep deprivation.
I have created five OSINT challenges! 🎉
The set, titled "Back in Time", focuses on @Bellingcat's many contributions to the OSINT community over the past decade, and can be found on their new challenge platform.

I don't often create on-demand challenges but when I do I make sure they can be enjoyed by everyone. The bonus challenge I designed for the 2025 inCyber Forum OSINT Day is now live on my website!
I invite everyone to give it a go at solving the three tasks. I was told they were not that easy, so expect plenty of dead ends and some frustrating google searches along the way 😅.
I will be uploading a video walkthrough in a few days. No spoilers here please.

I wrote a blog entry focused on how the past decades of OSINT reshaped investigative journalism and the pursuit of truth, justice, and accountability by playing a vital role in modern human rights investigations.
Hope you enjoy the read ♥️
Two years, 31 OSINT exercises, and over 300 walkthroughs later, I’m humbled by the knowledge, creativity, of the OSINT community ❤️ You turned my exercises into a powerful source of shared learning, and I am truly thankful for that.
To celebrate I made it easier to share your walkthroughs, highlighted the best ones, and shared my top favourite.

"A day in the life of an investigator: Inside the world of open source at CIR"
In this article me and Erin talked about how got our jobs, our typical work day, tools we use, what is the best part of the job, and tips on how to become an OSINT analyst at CIR.
How are you getting on with OSINT Advent challenges? I'm struggling a bit.. mostly for time but some got me stumped! (I'll get there.. maybe)
Today my final @OSINT4FUN challenge was released. It was an easy but fun one. Did you get it right? 😉
The season of exploring, sharing, and learning is upon us!
I compiled a small list with the best OSINT & cybersecurity advent calendars with prizes, team competitions, CTFs, live streams, and compelling storylines!

That said, I do recommend "Psychology of Intelligence Analysis" by CIA vet Richards J. Heuer Jr. It’s timeless for metacognition, perception, and avoiding bias. And you can access it for free at the CIA website: https://www.cia.gov/resources/csi/static/Pyschology-of-Intelligence-Analysis.pdf
Honestly, I can’t recommend OSINT books because I haven’t read any 🤷♀️.
OSINT relies on online data, and the internet changes constantly. Tools come and go, but the real core is analytical skills, adapting to change, and critical thinking.
"What OSINT books do you recommend?"
I used to list this on my FAQ page, but I didn’t get asked often enough to keep it there. Clearly a mistake because I was just asked again! 🙃 So here’s my answer:
Got a questions? I may have some answers.
I updated the text on the "Frequently Asked Questions", and on the "List of OSINT Exercises" pages on my website. Added new info, and removed some.
Improved? Who knows 🤷♀️
I think it looks better at least.
