@ColinHaynes this is exactly what the manufacturers of high price RISC workstations were saying too!

@nina_kali_nina this would make a great blog post or YouTube video. I’m not necessarily trying to encourage vitality here but I would love to read or watch a long form experience if this! And then do “living in a text only terminal for a week” next 😬
@richkny my friend (no pun intended) just said his wife and daughter got a serious contact high during Friday’s show and were busting out dance moves during that heady Gun->Twist jam!
Recently, you may have heard that Peri Fractic, a YouTuber, announced he wants to acquire the #Commodore brand.
You might be thinking, “How serious is he?”
Based on my conversation with him: Pretty serious.

15 minutes into chapter 3 and I’m already crying and laughing #deltarune

The premiere of my 2 hour video on bootstrapping Linux from Windows XP starts in five minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vH_ss9tcwA
The Intel 8088 made its debut 47 years ago this week. In this blog post, we look at the 8088 and its sanctioned second source clones, and why Intel sanctioned clones in those early days. #retrocomputing https://dfarq.homeip.net/intel-8088s-and-non-intel-non-clones/
It sounds like the very people who could fix vulnerability variants in DWM, CLFS etc etc and make customers running Windows more secure are the people being laid off, to fund AI drunkenness.
At least DART will make more revenue from breaches, I guess. It really sucks.
MapQuest never went away, but a very bad merger sure left it directionless.

Wrong Merger, Wrong Direction: How MapQuest, a company innovative enough to kill road atlases in one fell swoop, was turned into an also-ran by a bad merger affected by an even worse one.

@theregister Nutanix is good but a cheaper alternative is #scalecomputing

@ncommander I’m sure you’ll also have to replace an xargs that’s from the ‘90s with a more modern equivalent. Pretty amazing how much userland you were able to bolt-on to get this to build.
Let’s go back to a website! 25 years. Is that #retrocomputing yet? https://homestarrunner.com/toons/backtoawebsite
@hacks4pancakes @Pwnallthethings someone needs to make a globally distributed virus that installs Notepad++ and sets it as default 😁

@ernie @tedium the gum thing is hilarious. My 10-year old has developed an aversion to eggs and even hearing the word is making him scream (while giggling, a part of him acknowledges how ridiculous it is). I was just chasing him around the grocery store with a Cadbury Egg (cos it’s anything with egg in it!). Yes I’m not so mature either lol. That gives me an idea though… please write up the history of Cadbury Eggs and related items if you have time. 🤣
@cm0002 it was really great playing around with an early beta on real hardware!
