I play very expensive whac-a-mole.

IT generalist. #infosec #travel #hawaii #hiking
Formerly of Guam, now in Hawaii. Very aware of being on land illegally annexed by the US Government from a Sovereign Kingdom.
I am just trying to grow/change and leave the world better than I found it.
Salty Cybernaut: I helped write a book (well, let's be honest, paraphrase one) on how to use the Internet. Finger, IRC, FIBS (First Internet Backgammon Server), FTP, and other things that only Linux users even remember. I did witness a man freaking WHISTLE with just his mouth into a phone and crash a BBS system. I learned IBM System 34 OCL before I learned LOGO on an Apple IIe. I might have suggested to a friend who was friends with a singer of a band that Delphi was a good way to access the Internet. I am that guy who maintained a usenet FAQ. Sorry, I'd edit it, but the ISP I was using folded before I could transfer control to a new email address.

The holiday season can be hard, esp. if you are someone w/#dementia and/or a #caregiver for someone w/#dementia. #HFC has many support groups for #caregivers, inc. "Keeping Each Other Company: Caregiving & #Grief." We meet 12.17 at 11 am PT.

Please consider filling out this google doc & joining one of these groups if you are feeling sad &/or lonely. Weirdly, sometimes talking w/people you don't know is easier than confiding in people you do.

. QR Codes get easily damaged
Many assume QR Codes are prone to damage easily. However, as discussed earlier, due to the Reed-Solomon error correction, a QR Code remains intact even with 30% of code damage.

So, you would need know how the check digits work in order to color in more blocks to derail the code. Its easier to just print a new sticker with a different code and cover, which is why people should be very cautious about just scanning random ones in the wild.

@PeterGray @clive Just wow! Reminds me of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escape_a as well as the printed maps of Korean mountain park areas on full size bandannas, which make them useful in multiple ways.

@malwaretech Haiku answer.

A lovely artwork of branch with little pink flowers, in the upper left is a Haiku poem.

She looked out. The profile of a demon lord decorated the city's skyline.

She sighed; did the pose. The goddess lifted her, transformed her into a magical girl.

She beat the demon into a pulp, then faced the harder battle: to return to her seventy-year old body, with aching knees and knuckles.

Experience the ethereal beauty of Hiroshige's "Eight Views of Kanazawa at Night." This triptych beautifully melds nature and serenity, inviting reflection on autumn's embrace. How does this artwork resonate with your own experiences of moonlit nights?

On writing without distractions.

A photo of a little working Macintosh Colour Classic on a desk, with a zip drive to the left of it and a bookcase to the right. the whole scene is a kind of very 80s/90s grey-era look, with just a hint of warmth to make it truly beige. On the tiny little nine inch trinitron colour screen is a wordprocessor with a document opened called 'untitled' and the text 'On writing without distractions.' typed on the first line of the document. There is a beige floppy disk in the drive.

@mdfranz Mocking them linkedin. Huh, I had not considered that site as a source of comic relief. I expunged all details in my own "record" and replaced it with generic notes in vain attempt to avoid ayy eye slop contribution.

"SLIP STICK" Libby would approve. Alas, my uncle's collection of them burned along with his collection of HP calculators, I need to find a nice one like this to keep with my navy radioman textbooks from the 50's.

Holy smokes, I've found the *only* good thing to have come out of the NFT bubble.

Zoë Roth, better known as "disaster girl", sold an NFT of her famous meme image for almost half a million dollars, which she used to pay off her student loans.

The best part is she and her family retained copyright over the image, I presume because NFTs don't actually mean anything.

Your layman logic is actually the law.

Drug trafficking is a criminal law enforcement activity not a military matter.

This is the definition of no due process.

Rather than going through the channels of the justice system where suspects are arrested & tried where the burden of proof of their crimes is on the government, Trump & Hegseth are simply straight up murdering people. No judge no jury no evidence.

And it is illegal. Plain & simple.
