@douglaspynn my bad - sorry for my mistake. I probably got a bad experience - everytime I got involved with zoning regulations and things like that, it took months and endless meetings, tons of paperwork and plans etc !

@douglaspynn good luck turning office space into housing... looks good on paper but it's dreadfully complicated and expensive. In great part because of zoning regulations etc. And in the meantime, large parts of downtowns are dying... also in "defence of the office" - for many people, it's an important place to socialize.

@wihtlore yup, agreed - mostly the Bible is about struggles so the adversary needs to be inhumanly big and strong. Maybe also, an idea of the Fall ? Giants as remnants of an age where creatures were more powerful etc
@wihtlore what I would like to understand is why the ancient Jews were so obsessed with tall beings. It feels like all non human beings in the Bible are some sort of giants? Never any sort of dwarfs or gnomes ?

@JPK_elmediat @wihtlore not sure about ethnicity, unless there is plenty of freedom in how you pick it - see that poll for instance. Would an Egyptian and a Kenyan ide tiny ad part of the same ethnicity ? Even worse with countries like Ehtiopia where you have 3 very different groups.

Short and very insightful video about why Russia's invasion of Ukraine isn't just any war - but the war of private interests, Wagner Group's and Putins's most of all. And sadly, why this means there isn't an end in sight. Reminds me of a discussion I had with a Syrian colleague a few years ago about why he didn't see any end to the Civil War there.
