Today's #WIP is less impressive, I did greyish white line highlight attempts on the "silver" parts and textured Piranha's flat base with Vallejo's mud.

Madness took me and I gave a shot at shark mouths for at least once victorious Warriors: the Cougar has a planelike torso already, and the Stormcrow provided a neat shape.

They look tolerableish from a distance only. It was fin, and that matters the most. Alsø: my cracked fingertips may be visible, sorry!

Having been laid off, I'm looking at selling things off, and to avoid shipping, my local battletech peeps get first shot, but I'd like to avoid ebay if I can, so I'm thinking of putting up stuff for sale here and on SomethingAwful's SA-Mart, of stuff I'm not likely to use myself.

I'm also open to taking painting commissions, but I doubt I'm good enough for anybody to bother.

I got bitten by sudden, weird inspiration and got 4 metal minis repainted and my Mercs KS loot's only Clan Invasion Salvage Box -provided Piranha almost completely done in about three sittings 👀

The blame lies on the Piranha, being a Diamond Shark unit, so that's what I went for. I attempted the blue-silver of the Lambda Spina Galaxy without using metallics. Dunno if I'll try for the Clan emblem or not... Would look crap most likely.

The four IWM minis in line in the background - Stormcrow Prime, Cougar B, Ice Ferret E, and a Stormcorw C - are repainted Jade Falcons, so they have bases set already. The middle-front mini - a Piranha Prime - is the only plastic one by CGL, and its base is currently flat black.

These were done ages ago but the photos are here only now. I bet you all had been holding your breaths since late April!

A full Star of Hell's Horses of the Alpha Keshik, and three more Points to my Jade Falcon / Gamma Galaxy / 3rd Falcon Talon Cluster. I'm most happy with the jewels on Nova Cat's three ER Large Lasers. Sometimes they end up looking great, and that is nice.

Done, photographed, edited: CJF Quatrefoil, in my universe an Overlord-C as opposed to what Sarna has agreed to (either an old Overlord or maybe a Command variant). Screw that, I went with the -C because I felt like it :D

Tons of fun was had, even if it sounded like a technically boring paintjob of greys. I also went with a grey as that's what the mission loading screen in Mechwarrior II from my youth had, while Camospecs says fleet assets are green.

@Robotsandstuff in most of the novels they use names with or without rank when talking to an individual. Can't recall any instance of a callsign like "Maverick", "Goose" or somesuch 🤔

Of course I haven't read everything, so I may be underinformed :D

Among other things my reading pile got boosted. Two new albums to my Asterix collection (Money cauldron and in Spain), the Futurological collection I read some decades ago by my father's recommendation, four Gibsons for cyberpunking, and very excitingly Jordan Mechner's hardcover edition of the Making of Prince of Persia journals 8)

Seeing the cover made the SoundBlaster version of the theme play in my head :D #bookstodon #reading

Maybe I'm about done now, unless I come up with some little tweak(s) still. After these photos I applied more matt varnish on the remaining glossy spots.

I did some hand-painted Autocannon hits and laser scorches, as well as sponged chips. For the light chips I used light grey, and for the deeper parts some dark grey with a drop of red. Today I drybrushed some black-tinted dark grey for soot and scorchmarks. With that I also shadowed the Gamma Galaxy's planet.
