@montef but always shit
I start every day with the goal of getting shit done.
I end every day having done shit.
@TindrasGrove "how often do I have to pressure wash the house, and what will it cost?"
Oh don't worry about that, and it's free!!
@TindrasGrove I love the Forgotten Coast part of Florida, one of the last places that feels like "old Florida". If you want to buy property there, it pretty much has to be a cash deal, and you have to be YOLO about the investment, as it gets wiped every decade or so and insurance is almost impossible to obtain at any price.
@paul_ipv6 That last point is tricky when a large part of the electorate denies reality.
@jack_daniel A friend of mine worked at director level in one of the UKs largest insurance companies. Almost 20 years ago they said that the company recognised (from their huge database) that climate change was real and was happening.
Politicians will be aware of this BUT choose to ignore it in the hope that the 'peasants and Serfs' won't find out.
But now the premiums are rising and in some areas houses cannot be insured and people are realising what is happening.
We finally have a new website, check it out: bsides.org
Huge thanks to Siggi for leading this, Kat for hosting, and everyone else who has helped with this project.
It is a work in progress, so please send a note to info@bsides.org if you see any errors or omissions.
We would like to specifically ask event teams to check the following:
Does your chapter have a marker on the new site?
Are you listed in the chapter list, and are all the contact info accurate?
If you have nailed down a date for your next conference: is it accurate listed in the event list?
If you would like to help with the site, or with things like event tracking (which would be much easier if everyone remembered to notify info@), please send a note to info@bsides.org.
@rridley We talked to a guy from West Palm a few weeks ago, his insurance went from $1800/yr to $8100/yr this year. Fixed income retiree.
Can't get a mortgage without insurance, can't afford, or just can't get insurance, it is a bad situation, especially in Florida, but expanding across the country.
L'aperitivo di oggi è lo psyco killer
60ml whisky irlandese
22,5ml Campari
15ml liquore alla banana
15ml liquore al cioccolato
2 dash d'assenzio.
Stirr&strain e versare in una coppa ghiacciata.
Meraviglioso, ma potentissimo!!!
@noplasticshower ooof.
Climate change is a hoax to the MAGAts, but not to my insurance company:
"Notice of Non-Renewal
The above referenced policy is scheduled to Non-Renew at the end of the current policy term.
Reason for Non-Renewal:
Reducing Hurricane Exposure"
@Retepkce not wrong
@Ussjoin different bank, but same feel
If you are old, like me, these words *used to be* comforting. Now I read them as "Yolo and good luck"
Fucking DNS
Happy Krampusnacht y'all!

Fuck those miserable, predatory parasites, fuck, fuck, fuck them.
@isocat that is, sadly, a legit concern for some folks.
Every year, a crew of amazing volunteers joins together to make CactusCon great, and one of those people could be you.
