Next, a small update to Take Control of Scrivener 3 by @mcelhearn (https://www.takecontrolbooks.com/scrivener-3/), which is a complete guide to using Literature & Latte's @scrivenerapp Scrivener 3 for Mac, Windows, iPhone, and iPad. The new version makes a number of small changes and spells out Scrivener's extremely limited relationship to AI.
We have a few new/updated books to announce!
First, a new edition of Take Control of Your Digital Storage by @jeffcarlson (https://www.takecontrolbooks.com/digital-storage/). This book is the Mac user's complete guide to working with internal and external storage devices (hard drives, SSDs, NAS devices, and so on), with detailed info on APFS, using Disk Utility, and more. This version is up to date with Apple's latest operating systems and adds coverage of using external storage with iPhones and iPads.
Finally, Take Control of DEVONthink 4 by @joekissell, an extensive introduction to using the new DEVONthink 4 by @devontechnologies (https://www.takecontrolbooks.com/devonthink-4/). This new, 300-page book is free!
First it was people sharing slide decks instead of writing an article or a blog post. Then it was people writing long threads on twitter etc. instead of writing an article or a blogpost. Then it was people posting overproduced video clips instead of writing an article or a blog post. Then we had reaction videos of people discussing an overproduced video by someone else instead of writing an article or a blogpost. Now we have AI trying to summarise that.
Just write an article or blogpost, folx!
BRING BACK SCROLLBARS THAT DONβT DISAPPEAR!

@geoffduncan Good grief.
They did it again: Stick. Iβve got an idea for the next one: Stop.
As a user I want to see what Iβm looking for less clearly so that I can see an unrecognisable version of what Iβm not currently looking for through itβ¦
Me: I would like to see the thing I clicked or tapped on
Apple: Haha no you donβt. You want to see a blurry image of the thing behind that thing because we sure wouldnβt want you to, you know, see the actual thing you want.
I was very sad to hear that Loretta Swit has died. I watched her on M*A*S*H, of course, but I also met her once, back in 2004: https://joekissell.com/2004/12/07/driving-miss-loretta/
