Any time a song starts with a prolonged "hmmmmhmmm" I immediately skip it.

A magazine closed submissions two and a half weeks before their deadline. I had finished the short story I was writing that night! Apparently its standard practice for mags to take a "first come, first serve" approach, but man, it's frustrating.
I'm heartbroken. I'll try to find somewhere else to sell the story. Can't let this get me down.
Apparently, YouTube is taking down videos that explain how to perform nonstandard Windows 11 installations. Videos from several creators have been removed on topics including how to install Windows 11 without logging into a Microsoft account and how to install it on unsupported hardware. Microsoft is doing everything to push away at least power users from its OS.

This is a good time to adopt Linux desktop if you can as Microsoft is going full crazy.
Decided I'm going to buy a piece of land in the woods and build a cabin in there. I have no idea how to build a cabin. I'm willing to accept it could/will collapse on me one day for the price of noping out of the world.
@Wuzzy Sure would be a lot easier if people just left Twitter.
In the last month, Washington Post Editorial Board has:
•Called to RE-invade Afghanistan
•Blamed Hamas as Israel kills 100+ Palestinians since "ceasefire"
•Defended Trump destroying the White House
This is what state media looks like. I guess "Democracy Dies in Darkness" was a mission statement.😐

unCANny is a series looking at canned things that are weird. Weird stuff in a can, you could say. And when I say 'weird,' I mean that from my own point of view, things that are unique and strange from my perspective.
Today, I'm looking at something called a Chrysanthemum Drink, a weird mix between tea and juice made from chrysanthemum leaves.
Please note that Democracy Americana is no longer on Substack.

Imagine if we called it creamy ice
Donald Trump has pardoned Binance founder Changpeng Zhao. Binance has been a major supporter of Trump's crypto projects, and Trump has already made millions after Binance accepted a $2 billion investment from an Emirati fund denominated in the Trump family's USD1 stablecoin.
One of the people CZ hired to lobby for the pardon is Teresa Goody Guillén, a lawyer who has simultaneously represented the Trump World Liberty Financial project. She's also lobbied on behalf of Binance on crypto-related topics.

Golly, I'm so irrationally upset about these six leaves on my lawn. If only there was some gas-guzzling machine that people five states over could hear me use that takes half an hour to move those leaves about ten feet. Anyone know of any such device?
Still haven't done anything about the ICE ads, but they are working overtime to go after random people on social media posting about those recent leaks. How about that?

In the last three days George Miller and Hideo Kojima have breathlessly voiced their love of genAI. I can't decide to go with "you were the chosen one" or "you die a hero or live long enough to become the villain" meme.
Do you like Gundam? How about gunpla? Well, you're going to hate this video! Watch as I slowly, ponderously struggle to be a simple gunpla model.
This is the Shining Gundam model from Mobile Fight G Gundam, the first and only second Gundam anime I've ever watched. I actually have two, one from 2011 that I'm building here and one from the 90s that I compare this newer model to.
unCANny is a series where I look at strange foods in a can. Or at least, strange to me.
Today's video is about a Sweet Peanut Soup. I love this stuff, but Atomic Shrimp made a video about it years ago and hated it. Time to shine a positive light on this delight.
