Did you know Jottacloud was one of the first to bring AI search to cloud storage? ๐ง
Back in early 2023, we rolled up our sleeves and launched our AI-powered photo search, making it a breeze to find photos.
Just type what you're looking for (like "red bike" or "snowy mountains") โ and voilร .
And the best part? Your privacy stays protected, as always. We train our AI on external datasets, never on your personal files.
๐ Learn more about how it works here: https://jottacloud.com/en/ai-powered-photo-search
@harljo.uk Thank you for the shoutout! Happy to have you onboard :)
@appassionato Hi! Thanks for sharing :)
Just FYI: I noticed that some of the information in the article is a tad bit outdated. We've updated our Desktop App, for example, and there are new subscription tiers launched last year that they don't seem to mention (https://jottacloud.com/en/why-jottacloud/jottacloud-pro).
Regardless, it's a great introduction!
@trebach That's a valid point and concern!
Let me clear it up: Our AI search is developed and pre-trained on external models. It does not use customer data to further train and develop!
We've elaborated more on it here: https://jottacloud.com/nb/ai-powered-photo-search
Pretty neat, I think! ๐
@vanessaschroyens
Awesome! We'd be happy to hear your thoughts and opinions if you want to share :)
@pverhoye Cool! Welcome :)
We're happy to welcome new users from Mastodon to our cloud! Hereโs a short #introduction to #jottacloud
๐ Secure cloud storage; backup, sync, and archive across all your devices
๐ณ๐ด All data is stored in Norway, on servers inside a mountain (yep, we're THAT Norwegian)
๐ Privacy-focused since 2008
๐ง AI-powered photo search makes finding photos a breeze

Our goal is to make cloud storage accessible, secure, and private for everyone!
Have you tried it yet?
No, it's not. Here's an article that elaborates a bit more about our encryption: https://jottacloud.com/en/why-jottacloud/encryption-and-data
We know privacy is important, which is why we have aimed to be transparent as possible about our privacy policies as well: https://jottacloud.com/en/privacy
I'll make sure to have a look at the wording, and see if there's anything we can do to make it better. Thanks for the heads up โบ๏ธ
@Emperohr Great idea, thank you. We'll post an introduction!
If you try us out, we'd love to hear your first impressions and opinions! โจ
@danielcasanueva Hey! Thanks for the warm welcome!
Glad you checked out the site โ and yes, we do offer an unlimited storage subscription! Itโs one of our most popular subscriptions, especially among anyone with a ton of data they want to keep accessible.
There is a small asterisk though: after 5 TB, upload speeds are gradually reduced. Most users only notice a difference once they go above 10+ TB. If you're curious, here's a doc more info and a speed table:
https://docs.jottacloud.com/en/articles/3271114-reduced-upload-speed ๐
Welcome, then! Let us know what you think if you decide to try it out :)
Welcome! Let us know what you think!
@AngelaScholder Right! Should you decide to start using Jottacloud we'd be very interested in hearing your opinions! :)
@klic Good to hear! We've always been based in Norway, and are very glad to welcome new users :)
@proscience Thank you! This is a great little guide to get started :)
Right! The short answer is that thereโs a probability score behind the AI photo search. Since you only have one photo uploaded, it likely skews the result โ the system assumes that this photo has the highest chance of containing a human, simply because thereโs no other data to compare it to.
It's an interesting case, though, I'll bring it to the developers! Thanks for sharing. :)
