It's a good thing that there are so many 3rd-party Mac developers that make apps that replace/replicate/compete with all the first-party apps from Apple.
So now when Apple breaks their own shitty apps and OS features you can just replace them with something that's actually good and actually works.
macOS Sequoia can't tell me the storage breakdown in Settings.
It's been like this for hours. Why is this so bad? How is this so hard?
Does this work for anyone else?
crazy how people love damaging their own brands

Anyone have recommendations for accounting / bookkeeping software that’s not QuickBooks?
All I really need is simple bank transaction syncing and profit-loss reporting.
I’m working on the macOS 26 update for NetNewsWire, and I wondered how difficult it would be to get rid of all the menu item icons.
Turns out to be quite easy! Just a few lines of code and they’re all gone.

And of course he updated, because I’ve drilled into his head for years “always update! it’s important!”
Now he’s stuck with Lquid Ass.
You won’t understand how fucking terrible iOS 26 is until you watch a 75yo struggle with it.
Apple “design” is such a fucking joke.
I thought my 75yo Dad’s iPhone was too old to update to iOS 26, so I never bothered to say anything.
Second day visiting. Dad: “hey can you fix my phone? That last update messed everything up.”

what the actual fuck is this
Good news regarding Apple's hostile forced upgrades to iOS 26.2 (instead of iOS 18.7.3).
As folks have mentioned, turning on iOS 18 Developer Beta updates reveals the 18.7.3 update — and it appears to be the final release version, not a beta version. (This is why I was hesistant. Don't want betas.)
Leaving iOS 18 betas toggled on DISABLES THE NAGS about iOS 26. Then I have auto-update turned off.
Fucking win win.
If I weren't a developer, I would lose my fucking mind.
@tclementdev it does! And it showed up in Settings below the 18.7.3 update.
Honestly, I’d rather have Windows 3.1 Hot Dog Stand than Liquid Glass.
I just updated a test device to iOS 26 and the fact that there’s a welcome tutorial / walkthrough of Liquid Glass during setup is an obvious sign of failure.
You shouldn’t have to explain basic UI elements to users. 🤡
I still can't get iOS 18.7.3 on my iPhone, but my iPad did prompt me to update.
iPhone only shows 26.2. What's the deal?
Folks have said they turned on beta updates to get 18.7.3, but I don't want to do that...
#Swift is designed to be an approachable language, where developers coming to Swift can become productive quickly and have fun doing so.

These notifications are pissing me off *almost* as much as Liquid Glass.
