We went on many rambles this weekend and discovered many things. Today we drove down a dirt road and came across this sign.

I'm taking part (Yet again!) in the Song Fancy 5/5 Songwriting Challenge hosted by @sarahspencermusic so I'll be on Twitch every day this week writing, culminating in a massive stream on Friday where I'll write for a few hours then switch over to Yakuza 4. In today's edition of Kyla conflating popular things, my husband thinks we watched the first season of the Walking Dead, I don't believe we did, but I also didn't know that The Walking Dead, The Last of Us, and Fallout were different things. Also, wow, the walking Dead was on for like, 12 years!

As I recall, the Jockey Club beer packaging made some generalization about 'Real Newfoundlanders' that he took umbrage to.

It's Father's Day today so here's some snaps of my dad. He's no longer with us, but his presence is still felt. He spent a significant porportion of time playing the piano and singing, and he and I shared a lot of strong opinions about things like, how heavy a blanket should be, or how close to your neck a shirt collar can be before it's better to simply burn the shirt. I shall include a couple shots from a series I took of him on Christmas Day of his reactions to the Jockey Club packaging.

I've had this Betty Crocker cheery chip b-day cake in the same Raggedy-Ann cake pan every year since I was 5. I haven't made this year's yet, and I was 40 before I discoverd that if you use milk instead of water it doesn't fall apart. This year I plan to use a can of cream soda.

Monday is my birthday! So the Morning Sing Song will go ahead as usual, but I'll be wearing my birthday girl crown. Perhaps my plush friends will join me. I'm turning 45. Totally technically a grown-up! No writing stream on Wednesday, but I'll be on earlier as part of the Twitch Music Creator Club Raid Train, and...I will eventually pick a time and stick with it, but thought I'd try a later Youtube stream again.
