@dyckron Not sure I'd go to a bar where the staff are asleep. I can pour my own whiskey at home.
I love semicolons; their curvy full stop is a slap with a feather boa.

@themossygreen Excellent! 😸
I've seen a few Skip the Dishes ads lately featuring John Hamm being an arsehole.
Who do those ads appeal to?
I think they pretty much have made me loathe the sight of John Hamm.
Five years ago this month, I launched Alberta Unbound, a podcast to interrogate Alberta identity and explore the diversity of Alberta perspectives. My guests have been poets and politicians, academics and agriculturalists, jurists and journalists, singers and scientists and social activists. After 55 episodes and 50K downloads, we’re celebrating! #AlbertaUnbound #cdnpoli #ableg #abpoli

Just remember that every time a group has fought for positive social and political change throughout history, they have been told that what they were doing was pointless, wouldn't matter, and wouldn't change anything.
They have been wrong every time.
@cstross I've been using LibreOffice exclusively for about 6 years in personal writing tasks. Good riddance MS Office
A small note that I have an even smaller (two line!) poem, "Last Request", up at Identity Theory, if you have ten to twenty seconds for a very short read.

Yes. Ive only experienced this level of #CanadaPost incompetence when I lived on reserve in Canada's north. Then it was due to someone in a Canada Post sorting station repeatedly cherry picking the mail for "gifts" that cause all the delays.
In a major city I expect more efficiency.
I though the first 6month delivery delay was just a weird confluence of bad luck.
This second 5 month return likely says something about mail delivery quality in the NE quadrant of Calgary.
A few years ago I sent a Xmas card to Newfoundland from Calgary, it arrived in JULY.
I kid you not.
I may live in the Bermuda Triangle of #CanadaPost services.
Or maybe its equally effed all across this country??!??!?
I sent Xmas card Dec 22, 2024 with full street address (unit, st, city, prov - correct) & incorrect postal code
It was mail traveling within #Calgary
Today (May 20), it was "returned to sender" by #CanadaPost - 5 MONTHS after I put it in the mail.
I guess the full street address was not enough to figure things out?
I saw Swiss posties deliver letters with just a name & town. CanadaPost can't be bothered using their heads.
Plus 5 MONTHS to return it. What is happening at that place??!!?!?!
