AirPods suck. At least once a week a pod will not charge. No amount of cleaning will keep the contacts from poor contact rendering a pair worthless.

If it was 20 bucks no big deal but 200 bucks is a whole other deal.

@dandrumheller I was the same but decided to do 1 good trip per year at least. It’s been 4 years now and it’s made me happy.

@dandrumheller I decided to go a bit further and commit to a rally in mid July. Paying the small fee for the rally has me planning my ride out and back. Somehow I am also going back east for a week end of June (not riding).

Trying to convince myself to also ride out to Boise for Party at the Pen mid September. It’s the best location and vintage chopper show in the Northwest.

I got a fresh set of tread to break in on these tires.

I have been running a couple app containers on my VPS and one is Caddy. I have run caddy for a bit both containers and bare metal and why I bother with containers is a mystery. Quick to get setup but every time I end up moving to bare metal.

I see the value of containers a lot of the time but DNS related stuff, remove the virtualization and save the heartache.

Gonna be real nice in the Seattle area tomorrow.

New project I am working on is to get a client ready for ISO 42100 certification.

I have been reading a lot of stuff and tested the product and I am having a hard time seeing how I can take all these aspirational docs and white papers and build a set of controls that mean something.

I am not even sure how to start the interview process for information gathering. “ Hi I am Lee, I am writing your AI Policy and building your formal AIMS, after reading x, tell me how you prove fairness and unbiased outputs?”

Seems a bit forward to ask an AI company on the first date.

Every hope has died, zero engagement, zero attempts to try anything.

I expect that from a corporation but I expect more from people.

So much of what I stand for and why I do any of this is so I can do business with people with heart.

I am emotionally invested in my work, not something I always enjoy but it has always made it worth it.

Not standing up and following through and just closing the door when you choose is not right and not in good faith. It’s still cowardice and using the business to speak for you.

I am not mad, won’t do anything further with them but it’s always interesting to see people tuck tail.

What the heck is happening with salaries on job listings?

I have been watching the jobs for Information Security Manager listings and for a year I have watched pay drop from $150-200k USD to a low tapping out at $110-125k for higher titles and responsibilities

Shift back to $200k for reasonable expectations seems too good to be true.

This new kid I have doing odd work for me has been a blessing in disguise.

Smart, continues to show the ability to learn and adapt, takes ownership, produces quality, and has already allowing me to grow the business a bit.

Today, got another out of the blue email about a local tech business event that I couldn’t make earlier. I sent it over, he went, represented me, asked questions, got me details of the presentation, an intro to a state work program that could be helpful in finding, hiring, training, and paying young people while they focus on finding solid tech careers.

I have been looking for true purpose. One that keeps me and a few others fed, honest people honest, a couple businesses a bit more secure, maybe some llamas on the ranch. Seriously I am so close….

Most of my spare time and money is going towards helping drive this and the engine is just about to turn over. I need a bit of patience and luck but it’s real.Nothing would make me happier than having someone quit on me to take their dream job, I want a company of quiters, just need to make sure I can pay them till they quit.

@cR0w @da_667 this is a legit sighting daily round here. The crows are relentless with the Eagles and Osprey. Near the river there are 7-9 mid to large osprey and on the lake there is a bald eagle every other treetop from Renton to I-90 (6-7 miles)

Just today one of the really big ones got into a tangle with 5-6 and it couldn’t get high enough fast enough

I know for a fact as I have been tested, I would sell just about anything, go hungry, be uncomfortable for a time just to own my bikes.

I have shed a lot of things in my life, H-D is a brand but the little boy in me still sees a Harley and gets excited, Teenage boy me feels alive, and the day I got my own key, I felt free.

Nothing like money will ever take a way my freedom. Riding gives me that.
