It has helped me notice stress and unpleasant feelings sooner and deal with them. This has led to better sleep and I am happier overall. Who knew paying attention to how you feel (a thing I had been taught to ignore) could be so good for you?

I just learned that people who track their mood on a daily basis report they do more pleasant activities and their mood improves. And, personally, I have found this to be true. I use the How We Feel app (howwefeel.org/) for months now.

Day 4 of my June-bearing strawberry patch. They aren't huge, but they are yummy.

@Uddelhexe no pun, you got it. Just saying rather than using the term, there is a word for it

Have you heard people use the phrase "diarrhea of the mouth" to refer to talking too much? How about this word: Logorrhea.

πŸ“ What if your app could use your location β€” without ever knowing where you are?

That’s what a team of researchers in Europe is working on: a privacy-preserving location sharing system that uses cover traffic to mask your real coordinates.

How it works:
🧠 Your device generates plausible decoy locations
πŸ“‘ These are transmitted alongside your true location
πŸ›‘οΈ Even your service provider can’t tell which one is real
πŸš— Designed for use in navigation and safety systems, like car apps or emergency alerts

Still in the research phase β€” but if this proves scalable, it could shift the privacy paradigm away from β€œtrust us” to β€œcan’t see it.”

It is that time of year again where I dread going to church on #mothersday (nevermind that I don't love going to church any other Sunday... But I have my reasons for showing up). Over the years my thoughts about Mother's Day at church have gone from "there is a better way to celebrate this that doesn't have to make women sad" to "there is no way to celebrate Mother's Day at church that will make everyone women happy" to "there is no good way to celebrate Mother's Day in a patriarchal church."

The older I get, I have learned that the things people make sense of, don't, and maybe won't ever, and I am okay with that. Embrace the mystery, I guess

@KarenStrickholm I have read good things about KnitCompanion...it was weird on my phone, unfortunately. Apps like this are so helpful!

@HipsterDM yeah, I think "lazy" is the word here that people define differently too. Maybe there just needn't be so much shame attached to it.
