Today I learnt of the re-release of one of my all favourite records. #DanSwanรถ completed the re-mixing and re-master of the landmark #Crimson LP, recorded in 1996 #EdgeOfSanity. In my view this is one of the best #Rock works ever recorded. It has everything: overwhelming and fierce sections, introspective and soothing segments and loads of melody. The leitmotif melody slowly mutates throughout the record, in what is a rather unique approach to rock music.

Last week I attended the #OSGeo #CommunitySprint, part of the #BiDS conference, held in #Riga. This was the most intense sprint I ever attended, with the first two days spent at the whiteboard designing hexagonal tesselations.
One more step towards usable #DGGS with the #GeoPlegma project.

The new edition is prompted by the release of OGCโs updated Observations, Measurements, and Samples (#OMS) Standard (2023), as well as alignment with #OGC API โ Connected Systems and OGC #SensorThings API.
Numerous updates and fixes have been made in response to feedback from users, while preserving all features of the 2017 edition to protect existing deployments.

The First Public Working Draft of a new edition of the #SSN #Ontology (including #SOSA) has been published by @w3c and OGC. This is an invitation for comment on a proposed standard.
The new edition updates the RDF implementation of OGCโs O&M, issued jointly as a W3C Recommendation and OGC Implementation Specification in 2017.
Workers completed the main excavation of the Brenner Base Tunnel between Austria and Italy that will eventually become a high-speed rail line linking north and south Europe. The Brenner Base Tunnel, which is being billed as the world's longest underground rail connection, is a centrepiece of the EU's drive to shift freight off the roads and onto rail, to cut pollution and boost European trade.
The tender for the European quantum computer that SURF will host and manage has been opened.
The system will be located at the Amsterdam Science Park, linked to the national supercomputer Snellius. This lays a new foundation for the future digital infrastructure in the Netherlands.
