"I've found a lovely community of people. I get my parasocial fix without being inundated by cryptogrifters shilling shitcoins, nor by thought-leaders posting inflammatory takes for clout. There are no disingenuous politicians and remarkably few celebrities trying to sell me their bathwater. There's no advertising. There's a great API for bots.

"But, just to be contrary, let's list some of the bad points about it."

A major distro compiling packages for x86_64-v3: discourse.ubuntu.com/t/introdu

Together with the Windows 11 baseline and x86_64 macOS going away, this is going to allow SIMD in places where it currently doesn’t work well. For example, in text processing, you want to intermingle SIMD and scalar code in a way that easily leads to just not writing the SIMD code if it would have to go behind a run-time check.

So #youtube is deleting videos of people showing how to install #Windows 11 on computers without TPMs and using local accounts. Can't imagine why.

So, please share mine! I make absolutely no money on my videos, I purely educate.

I am looking for a full-time job.

Being independent in open source for 3.5+ years has been wonderful. I've gotten done most of the high-level goals I wanted to, and miss having people & structure around me.

If you know of a role for a staff-level TypeScript+web developer, let me know! 🙂

I’m really looking forward to a time when the primary demand for GPUs is rendering again. I’m sick of having to fight bandwagon chasing weirdos buying them up by the truckload for Ponzi schemes or bullshit machines

This week, the Software Foundation rejected a $1.5MM NSF grant, due to a requirement that the PSF abandon diversity work.

So I joined forces with Python folks (@offby1, @petrillic, @amethyst) and we're matching up to $12,000 of donations to the PSF. 🧵
