Wow. This new macOS 26 UI is quite bad.

There's a huge waste of space everywhere.

It's supposed to elevate the content, but my attention is constantly being drawn to all the raised toolbars with huge shadows and sidebars lacking contrast everywhere. The content is actually taking a background role in the middle of all of this. The new toolbars are a huge distraction.

The app icons look amateurish and ridiculously lacking in detail and refinement.

Another sad major update of macOS. 🙁

I like Peloton a lot; I think they have a great service and excellent hardware.

But every time I complete a workout on my phone and see this screen I pull a muscle laughing at the cheesy writing 🤣

The #NoKings crowd in Fort Worth was probably twice as big as the Hand's Off protest from April. I'd say several thousand. I have no good shots of the crowd in the park or all the honking cars. But it was a festive and peaceful event.

Apple love to preach "the UI gets out of the way of your content" with each new redesign, but how true is that in practice? Let's compare the total height of the Safari UI with a toolbar, favourites bar and tab bar visible, across the three latest Mac OS design languages – Yosemite, Big Sur and now Tahoe. I've added a red line for emphasis.

It sure looks to me like the UI is eating more into my content with each redesign.
