US car repair costs are up over 43% in six years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics
The cost of fixing damaged cars has skyrocketed 28% since 2021.
Hooray for ADAS. “My 2013 BMW X5 rear ended a small car and the damage to my car looked minor,” said Tom Walken, a psychologist in Raleigh, N.C. “But the electronics in the front bumper area pushed the repair cost to more than 75% of the car’s value so North Carolina law required that it be totaled.”
This is such a wild situation. Vanguard did some shenanigans in administration of its mutual funds that caused some investors to incur unnecessarily large tax bills. So a class of investors sued. That case reached a proposed settlement of $40 million. (1/?)
they negotiate a new settlement on top of what Vanguard is paying the SEC.
Which maybe isn't unfair, if you view them as kind of freeriding on the SEC's efforts - it's hard to tell.
But eep. (fin)
Voters backed both Trump and progressive policies like minimum wage hikes and abortion rights. This disconnect is the answer to the "how did this happen" question.
A lot of voters are profoundly ignorant. More so than in the past. I explore why.

@JustAndreas67 Actually I think I drew that line too shallow
@JustAndreas67 how? I freely admit that this is half assed but
Just hit me that Drumpf’s idea of courage was shooting someone on 5th avenue and not naming a son Fidel or Sue
Billionaires who condemned Trump are now flocking to his campaign.
It’s obvious why.
Biden wants a 25% tax on billionaires.
Trump wants to double down on tax cuts for the rich.
All they care about is lining their own pockets no matter the cost to everyone else.
