As much as I love doing the retrogaming content I can't help but feel it'd be more helpful to highlight indie projects than defunct commercial products.

@genericgeekgirl @victorgijsbers I definitely prefer to use Twee, but I have used the GUI to create visual prototypes to help me visualize process and structure while I work.

@multiverseofbadness I actually started reading as part of a podcast project with a few friends. Went 17 episodes before I decided I was spending too much time cleaning audio for a project that wasn't making me any money. :D

Warning to #InteractiveFiction creators, someone is trying to get Itch.io pages taken down that include the phrase "Choose Your Own Adventure". The person issuing the notices, allegedly on behalf of Chooseco, has been reportedly difficult to deal with, and seems to be trolling/bullying smaller creators.

@multiverseofbadness Spent the last year and a half reading Marvel from FF#1. Not all of it, but the major arcs, hundreds and hundreds of issues.

Thinking of cutting it with the post-crisis DC stuff now that I've hit the late 80s, but I'm not sure if I want to turn this into some kind of review project or not.

@janice_e_ I was a kid during that era, but I was tangentially involved in the post-commercial IF scene on usenet and elsewhere, using TADS and Inform and occasionally writing my own parsers.

To help make connections: name 5-7 things that interest you but aren't in your profile, as tags so they are searchable. 

Then boost this post or repeat its instructions so others know to do the same.

Got an idea for some serial #interactiveFiction games. Something episodic.

Might be in #unity, might be in #godotEngine, maybe #twine or #inform. Working on the details, maybe I'll whip up some "pilots" to see what strikes a chord with players.

@ajroach42 I mean professionally I write novels and make games, but the video game history stuff I do for free. To me that makes it a more pure passion.

If I was able to find a full time job that eliminated profit motive from the stuff I make, it'd get a lot weirder, and a lot more passionate.
