Mostly just here talking to people about the simple things in life. I enjoy a laugh, and don't get offended easily.
Constantly worried about saying the wrong thing, and try to help everyone, even if I make mistakes in the process.
Lover of all things Retro-Futurism, Cats & Dogs, and Linux/FOSS. Occasional voice actor.
Learning to Code in PHP/HTML/CSS/MariaDB.
Somewhat mentally disturbed...

@KydiaMusic Yes, the tune is Greensleeves.
#Work has become far more difficult in recent times. #Growth opportunities are extremely unlikely. So Im thinking about trying some things I can do from home in my spare time.
I'm toying with a few #sciencefiction #writing ideas. I'm also thinking about recording some #audiobooks, and maybe releasing them a chapter at a time.
What things do you think I could do to build a secondary #income? I would prefer something creative with my voice or writing. I'd love to hear your opinions.

Bro. When you pull across two lanes of traffic that's travelling at speed, in front of me, and cut me off without indicating through a gap barely big enough for a washing machine, you don't get to yell and scream at me because you think I should have given way. You were in the wrong mate, and you know it. I'm on a #motorcycle - your idiocy can kill me.
We've just released InfiniTime 1.13 : improved HR processing algorithm, weather integration in PTS and a much improved battery life!
Enjoy!

@lupyuen I need to point out that I am not trying to minimise the work that has been carried out over the last couple of years. It has definitely been significant and I applaud those who have contributed their time and work. Sadly, the fragmented projects and politics have caused fractured work efforts. It has slowed original; innovative and creative development significantly.
@lupyuen he makes some extremely valid points. While everyone will have different ideas of what is important, at its core mobile Linux on a PinePhone should above all else, be a reliable Phone. It's part of the reason I left the community and shutdown my own work. I went back and tried it again about a month ago after a 2 year absence, expecting there to be massive improvements on reliability front. I was severely disappointed. The state is almost identical to 2 years ago.
@radio fantasti.co fias.co alfres.co simpati.co something like that maybe?
@unfa I just checked in with ChatGPT, this is the response I got. I tried to correct it's knowledge by making it scrape for data, but after restarting the conversation, this is the response it came up with:
@the_roamer @goodthinking replies also allow us to get a better understanding of the person, and how we might better interact with them.
@bflipp @Johto @violet_cerue not entirely true. Invidious solved the problem with proxying video. Not only that, but spoofing your fingerprint is reasonably easy these days. Some choose the path of least resistance, others choose to fight in the smallest ways for the remote chance of claiming back a small amount of personal autonomy.
@bflipp @Johto @violet_cerue removing ads is ≠ to trying to maintain, or reclaim personal privacy. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a solution that allows for YouTube creators to be paid well for there work using AdSense, as well as consumers to be able to maintain, or reclaim their privacy. It's one or the other. There are lots of temporary or suboptimal solutions, like donations, subscriptions, sidelines, sponsorships etc. You can't beat the integration of Ads.
@bflipp @Johto @violet_cerue IIRC - yes it does (or did, I think) skip ads on monetized videos, but it depends on the the creators revenue diversity. It was less likely to impact earnings if the creator relied on sponsorships, but more likely if they relied on Google AdSense. It wasn't the best solution to the privacy issue, but there weren't (and still aren't) any good options where no-one loses. Some people who used Invidious or New Pipe donated directly to creators
@Johto @violet_cerue PeerTube is a stand alone server that uses ActivityPub (the protocol that more or less runs the majority of the Fediverse) to share videos among individually hosted servers with their own content. This makes them completely independent of data farms like Google and Facebook. Invidious on the other hand, is a front end for YouTube. The idea is to strip away the tracking and provide more privacy for users, while still allowing them to access YouTube content
@lupyuen just a little tip, swap the sugar for honey, and add a teaspoon of white vinegar. The bread will stay fresher for longer, the honey is not only less likely to dry out the bread, but it, and the vinegar are natural preservatives. Mine went from about 2 days of usefulness, to 3 or 4 days.
