@homawida ohhh wie schön!
@scottkiss realizing that I will probably never get to visit the awesome nature of Utah again makes me a little sad. that pic is gorgeous, thank you for sharing
New to Mastodon. I'm an amateur photographer looking to expand my reach and hone my craft.
I'll post regularly photos from my library that I think are good.
Starting out with this photo from Moonscape Overlook, Utah at sunrise.

@Howard great shot!

1981, I first used a 35mm SLR, PENTAX MX. Took all over the world. Loads of lenses. B&W + colour #photos. Albums galore.
2003. Moved to pocket digital, Canon & Casio. Changed cameras every year as quality improved.
2010, Moved to iphones
2014, Got DSLR Canon just for events. 2 zooms. But default phone for everyday.
2025? I think I will restart DSLR work. If so, I may post on here. For now, still phone photos, Samsung.
What is your journey I wonder?
Enter the magic forest.

When Karl Ohiri asked to see the archives of an old studio photographer who worked in Owerri, the capital of Imo state, he got a startling response. “I burnt them.”
Visiting other studio photographers in Lagos, he kept getting the same response: they had all destroyed their negatives. Digital photography had rendered them expensive and obsolete. Even knowing that, learning of their burning was jarring. https://continent.substack.com/p/photo-essay-old-lagos-new-light
Many things suck but Polaroid 600 black and white film is back in stock.
@jbrockschmidt funktioniert die?
