Perhaps, Dravidians would decide now who they should respect and endorse and who they should not!

One of Big Journalism's saddest traits is choosing to be helpless in the face of challenges with ready solutions. Two examples:

1) Political coverage still obsesses on falsely balanced issues and horse races, and continues to normalize extremism, even when our democracy is at stake.

2) Journalists stay on Twitter, or X or whatever, even though the person controlling it uses the site to amplify extremists, including enemies of democracy (and journalism).

The (few) exceptions prove the rule.

I read that #Meta has launched #Threads and many don't understand why it's not fully usable via the web but only through a dedicated mobile app. Meta isn't interested in letting us talk but rather in collecting as much data as possible. Browsers have become (more) skilled at protecting us, while apps can have almost complete access to our mobile devices, gathering data that an average person couldn't even imagine. And our mobile devices have become the safe (or should I say, the exposed pantry?) of our lives. #privacy #datacollection #SocialNetworks

When reports appeared on #camebridgeanalytica’s usage of Facebook users’ data to influence electorates, I lost respect for #markzuckerberg and #facebook.

The recent interventions of #elonmusk convinced me to detach from #twitter - in addition to its favoritism for radical groups and authoritarian regimes.

Neither of these lobbyists values “freedom of expression” or “free speech.”

They simply wanted to have hands own user data for business and benefits.
