UK once again demands backdoor to #apple ‘s encrypted cloud storage
Happy #cybersecurityawarenessmonth !
I don’t care where you stand on political issues, murder is evil.
Taking two children’s father away is evil.
Justifying this because you don’t like things he said is evil.
#npm Package Hijacked to Steal Data and Crypto via AI-Powered #malware
https://www.infosecurity-magazine.com/news/npm-package-hijacked-ai-malware/
One of the benefits of computers has always been that they are precise, always follow instructions, and can perform complex calculations faster and more accurately than humans. This is why computers are used in every industry. If they screw up, is almost certainly because a human screwed up their instructions (coding). But if instructed properly, computers are faster and more precise than humans.
#ai inhibits all of these benefits.
AI is not precise.
AI often misunderstands instructions, and sometimes deliberately ignores them.
AI has been shown to be very bad at handling large, complex tasks.
It’s almost like everyone is saying Hey, let’s completely nullify the reason computers were invented in the first place.
AI has its place, but it is not (and likely never will be) reliable.
What could go wrong?
Interpol-Led African #cybercrime Crackdown Leads to 1209 Arrests
https://www.infosecurity-magazine.com/news/interpol-african-cybercrime/
From what I understand, they only arrested two people. Still a lot of NoName members out there. I'm sure well still be seeing them around for a while
@krypt3ia There was an article recently talking about how even people without a history of mental issues can be sent into paranoia and delusion when they become too emotionally invested in chatbots
It’s so scary. I don’t think we know how this is going to affect society in the long term. I’m starting to agree with the people that say we need to pause AI research
@phillip @bitwarden Never knew that, thank you for pointing this out!
If you need a simple, locally hosted file sharing platform, #filegator is a fantastic solution.
Supports multiple users, runs in Docker, and works with multiple storage systems via the flysystem PHP library, including (S)FTP, S3, and Azure Blobs.
@n_dimension Interesting. Have you seen any benefit at all to podman over Docker?
To anyone going through a difficult time:
Before you talk to an #ai chat bot about some deeply personal or difficult situation you are in: please please PLEASE remember that these are machines.
They have no consciousnesses. They have no understanding of you or the world around you.
They have no feelings or emotions, or any real understanding of them.
They don’t actually, truly THINK. They are simply designed to look like they do.
People are having mental breakdowns after falling into an ai-generated delusion, and LLMs have only been known to the wider public for 3 years now.
lol people are actually surprised to find out the llm doesn’t actually “think”
Finally made the switch to #Hyprland. I’m quickly falling in love with the more keyboard centric way of doing things.
