today is another rendition of @tbernard 's wonderful #BoilingTheOcean hackathon in #Berlin ! (and i'm finally back in town at the same time it's happening)

there will be a lot of local-first peer to peer related work, systemd/mkosi topics, and hopefully some #postmarketOS stuff too

i'll be hacking on pmbootstrap unshare support (removing the need for root access to use pmb), and maybe looking into pmb/mkosi integration (building on the mkosi support for pmOS that @craftyguy has been working on the last few days)

Die Beamten verfassen ihre Vermerke künftig mit dem Writer von Libre Office, schreiben ihre E-Mails über Thunderbird, tauschen Dokumente über Nextcloud aus. Und eines Tages soll statt Windows eine Version des Betriebssystems Linux zum Einsatz kommen.

Ich freue mich, dass wir mit Nextcloud diesen Weg in einer engen Partnerschaft begleiten dürfen!

Static site generator enthusiasts: if I start using Hugo to consolidate my 3½ blogs/static sites (WordPress hosted by GNOME, Write.as, self-hosted Ikiwiki(!), and a few scattered bits and bobs) am I likely to regret my choice?

(I considered self-hosting WriteFreely but its model never really clicked for me. I looked at Eleventy but I want to convert Markdown to Website, not write a JavaScript program.)

With v258 there's now a combined way to do this. If you add the -v switch to your "systemctl start" invocation, "verbose" mode will be invoked, which means the logs will displayed "live" covering the time span when the start operation is started until the start operation completed.

This has been a much requested feature – I figure some of you probably even looked for this feature personally already.

Všem, co tvoří videa pro #VHSky bych chtěl poděkovat. Obzvlášť těm, co nahrávají pravidelně.

Já vim lidi, že nemáte tisíce shlédnutí, jako na #YouTube, nikdo vám nikdy za nic nezaplatí (naopak část vás spíš platí, aby nějaký VHSky byly 😀) a je nás tam málo, ale když se podíváte, tak dneska už to neni poloprázdná stránka s ničím.

Jsou tam recepty, zvířátka, IT věci, přednášky i filmy a to všechno jen díky vám všem.

Teď bych ale měl žádost/prosbičku/apel na vás. Chtěl bych, aby tenhle post měl co nejvíc přesdílení a komentářů, aby o projektu vědělo co nejvíc lidí a třeba někoho dalšího napadne, že to jeho háčkování, 3Dtisky, výlety, politalky nebo třeba jiný varianty broukpytlingu můžou bejt pro někoho zajímavý a natočí je. Nebo někdo, kdo o VHSkách ještě neví začne pravidelně sledovat 😀

Zároveň chci požádat o diskuzi o tom, co vám tam chybí, přebývá nebo co by šlo vylepšit. Chtěl bych vědět, proč tam jste (anebo ještě nejste 😀 ) a jestli třeba neznáte nějaký zajímavý účty, co ještě nemirrorujem.

Pojďme si ten náš #PeerTube doladit tak, aby si každej něco našel.
