MicroTimes (1985): "[They] met a couple of years ago at a party ... They became good friends before they started in partnership to produce software." <theprintshop.club/2024/07/26/t>

@LaineNooney, "The Apple II Age" (2023): yeah I interviewed them personally. They were a gay couple. "Both had relocated to the Bay Area ... to explore their nascent identity in what was then a vibrant locus for the gay liberation movement in the United States."

Happy Pride! 🌈

Once again, Brendan Loper and The New Yorker cartoons nail it. Is this a chance for the global community to make real progress on international agreements that the US has long sabotaged?

A New Yorker cartoon by Brendan Loper: Five people sitting at a table, with papers in front of them saying "Hopefully we can have a productive dialogue, now that the Americans are sitting at the kids' negotiating table." In the background sitting alone at a little table with little legs and little chairs and a little American flag are two American negotiators.

@RetroFox These are neat! I have one that I put a Bluetooth receiver cassette adapter thing inside to make it a Bluetooth speaker 😄

I'm going to try to reverse engineer this mystery video frame grabber card!

A nondescript-looking ISA card, except it has two video connectors on the bracket along with 3 trimmer potentiometers

Ich habe mein eigenes Regenbogen-Farbband für Schreibmaschinen hergestellt. Ich finde, das Ergebnis kann sich durchaus sehen lassen. 🏳️‍🌈

I'm looking to pick up a HP Draftmaster II, RX, MX, RX+, or MX+ pen plotter. Do you have one or know someone that does and wants to part with it? I'm in the US Mid-Atlantic region.

Thanks for a boost!

@blakespot I don’t have one to offer but I wanted to mention one that might work well if you can find it. The Supra Turbo 28 had an A500 and A2000 version (virtually identical save the connectors). The feature that was really nice was it had a switch on the back that would enable/disable acceleration. Still a 68000 so not a speed demon. I had one of these for my A500. And recall it being fairly compatible. Good luck in your search!

I am looking for an Amiga 2000 CPU accelerator that features a physical enable/disable switch.

Anyone have one sitting around they're looking to sell? I'm using a 68020 accelerator now, so anything would be faster.

The absolute highlight of my day - I got to see @paulrickards's plotter art exhibit at Bantam Tools Machine Arts Gallery in Peekskill. In addition to art on the walls, Paul had a modern Bantam Tools pen plotter hard at work creating even more art!

Today I’m starting a big plot on the @bantamtools ArtFrame Panorama, a monster of a plotter with a 24” x 72” plot area. Excited to see a plot that is as tall as I am!

I’ll be here at the Bantam Tools Machine Arts Gallery in Peekskill NY today. Stop by if you’re in the area. 👋

I’ve long admired the old ALDUS logo from the early PageMaker days on the Mac. I’ve used that style to create a rainbow portrait of Alan Turing for pride month.

CMYK on 11”x15” watercolor paper using a vintage HP 7585B pen plotter generated and controlled with Python.

Available in my shop, in the Wildcards gallery. shop.paulrickards.com/wildcard

An abstract portrait of Alan Turing comprised of 34 horizontal lines that modulate thicker or thinner based on the portrait and are one shade of a rainbow continuous outlined in black. The shading is from cross hatching of pen strokes of cyan, yellow, and magenta inks.
