Holy fuck. This damning report from #Politico exposes the Young Republicans #Nazi chats. *Thousands* of #Telegram messages between young #GOP leaders have been leaked. Heinous and depraved are just two words which barely describe the messages.
Routinely, these people talked about gas chambers, slavery, and rape. But it doesn't stop there. One person said, "I love Hitler."

"William Hendrix, the Kansas Young Republicans’ vice chair, used the words 'n--ga' and 'n--guh,' variations of a racial slur, more than a dozen times in the chat. Bobby Walker, the vice chair of the New York State Young Republicans at the time, referred to rape as 'epic.' As a #medical professional and former #EMT this is gravely concerning. #Portland #ICE agents threatened to shoot and arrest #paramedics trying to leave the ICE facility with a patient. Agents intentionally stood in front of the #ambulance preventing departure. When the #paramedic put the ambulance in park and released the brake, it lurched forward an inch. Federal agents stormed the ambulance screaming at the crew. In addition to the verbal #threats, an unmarked state vehicle followed the ambulance to the #hospital.
ICE is now #aggressive to medical professionals. There is no going back once crossing this line. It's not a mistake and it's unforgivable. You don't fucking do this.
They have officially earned my wrath.

I understand it needs to happen in the middle of nowhere and I agree it needs to happen there. Right now the US is an east coast megalopolis and a west coast megalopolis with the middle of the country being, effectively, a void of nothingness.
What's the incentive? It'd take a Google-sized company to build a new HQ and a new major metropolitan area over the course of 20-30 years. Unlikely to happen because the tech talent is largely on the coasts.
Where do you live? I live in the #Boston area. Organic growth over design. So densely populated, there's nowhere to build. No new roads, no new high speed rail, yet plenty of high rises and skyscrapers. It is a *highly* desired section of the country and people keep moving in.
I agree proper urban design matters, including universal design principles. But do you have examples where this is happening? Because it's *definitely* not in the northeast.

It's becoming increasingly clear to me that Reflect Orbital's fucking stupid giant mirror satellite, with absolutely NOTHING useful to offer, which will cause countless safety issues, ecological disasters, and destroy the night sky, is going to launch.

Y'know I long for the 90s when #dystopian #nightmares were found in books and video games. The Center for Democracy and Technology has released a 65-page report titled "Hand in Hand: Schools’ Embrace of AI Connected to Increased Risks to Students."
The information is so alarming that, as of right now, it's on NPR's front page. Specifically, 1 in 5 high school students have had a romantic AI relationship.
Oh my gods.
I grew up watching Knight Rider and thought KITT was the shit, but I never thought people would have relationships with computers. The sheer *volumes* on which the psychosocial impacts of technology misuse shouts can best be described as shockwaves. Maybe, being fully immersed in a hyperspeed tech-driven world 24x7 isn't such a good idea?
