Students surprise teachers with old photos from the Myspace Era
Today I suddenly realised what's probably bleedingly obvious to everyone else in the world who rides a bicycle:
if you're sick of feeling your way around the tyre, trying to find where the recommended pressure markings are hiding, mount the tyre with the pressure markings right above the valve ! 🤦♂️
@ProfCharlesHaas @obsidianmd @obsidian A little bit. I went the Obsidian route to get away from the big corporations. I need a bit more features so I added a couple of plugins. The dumbest/most ironic one is I want my notes on a server I control, so I use a plugin to sync to my own server. I never checked the plugin code and I don't know if I can trust the author. Every once in a while I revisit an rethink my descisions but I never find a good alternative.
@djvdq Also, is the PiHole a container in docker or Proxmox? Make sure that the DNS and gateway settings of the container are correct so that it will not create a loop proxmox-router-pihole-proxmox, etc.
@djvdq It's fully possible that you are able to resolve hostnames and have internet while still having this problem.
@djvdq It sounds like a DNS resolution problem. Your laptop just handles it better than your phone, but probably has the same problem. I had something that sounds really like your problem. Do you use VLAN's? And does the query log from PiHole show a lot of N/A and other errors?
Check how your conditional forwarding is setup and the settings in router and VPN. My problem was that PiHole pointed to the router, which pointed to PiHole and so on. It was obscure, but it was there.
A "quick fix or patch" isn't a shortcut. it's a down payment on future technical debt.
@me No, definitely not. I've got everything in one vault. I don't see the need to wait and switch vaults while I can just collapse and decollapse folders.

@jon_dog What is it that makes the use case cause this behaviour?
Microsoft admits it 'cannot guarantee' data #sovereignty - https://www.theregister.com/2025/07/25/microsoft_admits_it_cannot_guarantee/ "Under oath in French Senate, exec says it would be compelled – however unlikely – to pass local customer info to US admin" and there we have it... #trump
@heals I'm not quite sure what you would like to see in those lists, and it will be really hacky. But with CSS you could hide all files not starting with a certain character or word. The lists or files you would like to see do start with that certain character or word. So you could make a note like "Books" and inside that note is a list of files with books.
I also came across the folowing github https://github.com/Mara-Li/obsidian-explorer-hider which could be what you're looking for if you don't want to do it yourself?
