Burning CD's.
Millennial witchcraft.
😂

A post from social media from someone named Actually Chloe that says - "Serious question for millennials... my older cousin said she used to 'burn' CDs for her crush. Like... with fire? Was that a ritual? Did it work? You guys were literally practicing witchcraft just to get a text back and I'm scared of y'all.

A reply from someone named Jake Zel says "The old magic will not be discussed with the children of new."

@mkj @nuintari @stefano That's possible.

The list as presented is a straight 'pfctl -t bruteforce -T show ' output, intended to be easily fed to similar systems.

Or as raw data for analysis of course.

@nuintari @stefano the nxdomain.no bruteforcers, six week expiry:

[Thu Jan 22 18:12:40] peter@skapet:~/website$ grep -v \# bruteforcers.txt | wc -l
91382
[Thu Jan 22 18:12:51] peter@skapet:~/website$ grep -v \# bruteforcers.txt | grep -c \:
5370

so 91382 total, of those 5270 IPv6 addresses, so only abour 5.76 per cent on IPv6

Also see the other lists at nxdomain.no/~peter/blocklists/

@ptribble about 20 years ago sounds reasonable.

OpenBSD removed the last traces of telnetd in the base system in 2005: marc.info/?l=openbsd-cvs&m=111, not sure how long other systems kept theirs (but could be years in some cases)

They say AI isn’t profitable. That’s not true.
Twice just this past week, I’ve been contacted and paid to fix problems caused by developers who relied on AI to configure servers.

Ed is not a primitive AI from Star Trek. You can't make its head explode via recursion or paradox-- it duplicates each line only once and moves on.

"Some perspective: The S&P opened down -1.3% on Trump's Greenland saber-rattling. That's $750 billion of wealth destroyed -- roughly equal to estimates of the value of Greenland.

And so ~in dollar terms~ his shenanigans have already cost the US one Greenland, and we've got nothing to show for it."

@jakobtougaard Windows software is not my strong suite, but I would try Thunderbird and see if that suits your requirements (I've been almost exclusively on OpenBSD/Linux/macOS for quite a while)

A three-panel comic strip representing international relations. A figure with a US flag shouts, "Give me Greenland or I’ll make US citizens pay more for your stuff." A group of figures with European flags (UK, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France) simply give a thumbs up and then smile at each other, leaving the US figure looking confused.

An exchange with Outlook-suffering colleagues reminded me of my 2011 rant which is sadly still relevant, "The Problem Isn't Email, It's Microsoft Exchange" nxdomain.no/~peter/the_problem
