"Heather questioned whether or not Musk’s chaotic takeover of the platform and the sizable layoffs he enacted at the company might have potentially slowed down how quickly the company could respond to law enforcement requests." https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/social-media/twitter-elon-musk-boy-kidnapped-groomed-discord-roblox-mcconney-rcna77985

The best thing that Dominion could do with their infusion of cash from Fox - for both their reputation and for the good of democracy - would be to invest it into developing more robust, auditable election technology, such as optical scan systems with features to facilitate Risk-Limiting Audits.

I had some thoughts about @nilay_patel's interview with Substack's Chris Best.

this is musk’s twitter, a direct attack on the free flow of information ‘regardless of frontiers’

I've boosted a few others pointing out this article, but I gotta say, I find it absolutely hilarious that Taibbi went from Musk bootlicker to effectively off the site and shadowbanned in 48 hours... especially since one of Taibbi's big (misleading and misunderstood) scoops was about Twitters visibility filtering... https://www.techdirt.com/2023/04/10/after-matt-taibbi-leaves-twitter-elon-musk-shadow-bans-all-of-taibbis-tweets-including-the-twitter-files/
This is the most bizarre leaked documents story I’ve ever heard of.
Thoughts and prayers to the Discord legal response team this weekend.

I'm going to risk bringing down chaos upon myself by posting this about why it's hard for journalists to leave Twitter, not just for bad reasons but for good ones. https://qjurecic.substack.com/p/what-now
Twitter did the same thing with Mastodon in December, then suspended journalists like me who pointed that out https://www.theverge.com/2022/12/15/23512113/twitter-blocking-mastodon-links-elon-musk-elonjet
How scared is Elon Musk of actual competition? https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2023/04/07/twitter-substack-taibbi-musk-split/
I wrote about why Mehdi Hasan's takedown of Matt Taibbi actually destroys the entire foundation of the story Taibbi is trying to tell about the Twitter files. https://www.techdirt.com/2023/04/07/mehdi-hasan-dismantles-the-entire-foundation-of-the-twitter-files-as-matt-taibbi-stumbles-to-defend-it/
