I've been reading about what really helped people who had problems with "AI Psychosis" and one tip jumped out at me:

Open a second window and tell it exactly the opposite of each thing you say.

This helps to expose the sycophancy and shatters the illusion of sincerity and humanity.

Thought it was worth sharing. And frankly, it's exactly such an exercise that made me disgusted with the tech. "It just says ANYTHING is wonderful and genius. I'm not special."

There's something remarkable about this photo illustrating the article in Le Monde about the snow fall in France:
The roads are cleared of snow. The sidewalks and bike lanes are not.
Yet, I count 13 pedestrians and one cyclist. The only car can barely be seen in the background.
Anecdotes are not data. But over and over, local governments make choices about who is prioritised for access, and it does not often line up to actual numbers of users.

I have been trying to figure out what to post here about ICE activity today in the Minneapolis / St. Paul metro. It is just •batshit• out there.

Some admin mucky-muck is in town today (Noem, I think?), and ICE is putting on a full We Are A Big Fascist Deal theater show. The result of this is chaos: ICE caravans all over, vulnerable people terrified, less-vulnerable residents dropping their work to keep watch on the streets.

My favorite thing on Bluesky is a labeler made by the Social Technologies Lab at Cornell Tech.

It surfaces metadata on posts. Most useful to me is "This person posted more than 50 times yesterday."

It recasts a post like the one pictured. It reminds me to look at their profile and figure out if they are a real person, and are they terminally online, or engagement farming, or what. Then I might block/mute because I don't need people like that in my lifeworld.
