Serious question: Has anyone built an AI app or proof of concept and deployed it in a production environment?
I really tried to proper use AI in my coding workflow today, to really undestand what's all the fuzz about.
But after 3 hours on a small project, this already (yes, I use a paid account) 😞
The best software engineers solve problems, not just write code.
They ask:
- What problem are we actually trying to solve?
- Is this the right problem to solve?
- What's the simplest solution that could work?
- What are the trade-offs?
- How will we know if it's working?
Writing code is the implementation detail. Understanding the problem space, considering alternatives, and thinking through implications—that's where the real value lies.
Code is just the tool. Problem-solving is the skill.
@mwl Completely believe „Bug-for-bug compatibility with MS Word and InDesign is essential.“ But in my experience, the bugs in Word for Windows and Word for macOS differ ever so slightly 😖
@khalidabuhakmeh Those were the good old times …
"„Vibe Coding“ ist ein Euphemismus für planlose Nachlässigkeit. Der Begriff suggeriert intuitive, kreative Arbeit, versteckt aber den Verzicht auf methodische Sorgfalt und professionelle Standards. Diese Umdeutung macht Unfähigkeit zur Tugend."
(Original title: KI-Tool versteckt Inkompetenz)
Alright, will do …

@papageier @ntv Keine Sorge, jetzt gibt es ja eine Arbeitsgruppe (!!!), jetzt wird alles gut.
if you put a webserver up on the internet. anywhere, hosting anything, you will see "the background radiation of the internet", and it looks like this:
@admin Was hat es mit diesen Legamis nur auf sich? Meine sind auch ganz verrückt danach …
@dtanzer We‘ve moved to HTMX for many use cases that we solved with SPA (Vue mostly) before. It‘s just so much better/faster/more enjoyable to work with. Doing stuff on the server feels just … right.
@dasdom I seem to remember that Seinfeld had a similar joke in the 90s. So, it‘s not only Düsseldorf.
@bagder Something like Markdown but to configure a survey sounds like a great idea 🤔
