#ICE (some reports say Homeland Security) with unmarked cars followed a car with an American citizen, his wife and baby for miles, before ramming the car multiple times, throwing tear gas at the car, and after dragging the man out of the car, drove away leaving the woman and baby in a cloud of tear gas.

@Tiffany Good idea! I haven't read anything else by the author. Admittedly, I've only read the intro of The Intermediaries and a few pages of Chapter 1.
The Intermediaries is a history of The Institute of Sexuality, founded by Magnus Hirschfeld in 1919. The Nazis ransacked it & burned a treasure of queer & trans research in the 1930s. Fortunately, there still are copies of at least some of Hirschfeld's writings.
