My 1 week break from posting about video games gave me the natural opportunity to try new games and I learnt a bit more about EVE Online...enough actually for me to like it almost as much as I like Albion Online...now I feel neutral about both games but EVE I think wins! (or they both win?)

No, EVE Online is not a good MMORPG alternative to Albion Online.

As a critic of Albion Online I can now feel I can say stuff I didn't say before because I was a stupid fanboy.
ie. when they removed the button to mount your horse on controller, that was a MAJOR BLUNDER and the first step into "unskilled development".
I'm gonna keep some accounts just in case people are gonna play this trash...but for now it seems like Albion Online is going to stay in my trash bin.
...no hurry to find an alternative.

The alternative I'm gonna make sure must not be connected to Steam so that I can play it both on my VPN (no talk in ToS about disguising your location or other B$!) and it must work on Linux/Steam Deck and

For me the game is over for Albion Online, also considering there was NOBODY on the fediverse that ever seemed to play this game ANYWAY.

Your Linux version is modified from the original Windows version which only allows Linux users to log in with Steam.
I'm not gonna play your game until you fix this or this changes significantly.
