Is Nix just Gentoo with self-loathing?
I make music when I can. I own too many synthesizers. I program C++ for money, but it's usually reasonably fun.
he/him or they/them, as you prefer.
Is Nix just Gentoo with self-loathing?
I absolutely hate that La Croix tastes so good because it's also so stupid.
Mark Shuttleworth seems confused as to why Canonical has thousands of unfilled positions. #Canonical

My mother has so many recipe books called "speedy weekday meals" or whatever and every recipe takes longer than anything I make at home. :thinking_cirno:

@tootbrute strictly platonic.
@clacke rap changed completely with the ascendency of "mumble rap" and trap beats. Hyperpop established itself, perfected in Charli XCX's hit album Brat. Billie Eilish's whisper-singing changed the female vocal landscape completely. Olivia Rodrigo made rock music lyrically vulnerable and raw, and Chappelle Roan made it lesbian. Lots of wild stuff in the last decade.
@tootbrute Plato lamented the loss of the golden age.
@owen at my company we are very precise about commit history, and we do our reviews with GitHub. While it isn't the default mode, you can do a review while moving through the individual commits. To some degree it's a team culture thing, not a tool thing. People know that individual commits will provide a great experience during a review, and a total diff will show an overwhelming mess.
@vriska well great, now I know about water-based cooking and I lost 3 IQ.
@liaizon a dedicated feed (second-class access) and search (large language model text ingestion). Personally, I'll pass on this.
I have a TV remote that uses Bluetooth. This sounds like a smart idea but if you sit on it on the sofa the TV turns off or on or does someone unexpected. Turns out infrared remotes actually make a lot of sense.
@discontinuity @jezdez @TechConnectify it's a wifi smart bulb so the power draw when off will be notable. I guess that's why it has an F energy rating.
But I have a computer with a 300 W power supply running 24/7 so maybe I'll consider that first.
After watching @TechConnectify 's last video I am noticing and calculating power and energy ratings on things.
I have a lightbulb that has a rating of:
5 kWh/1000h.
What the f is this unit?!
@TinaStormcaller what is this software?
@valhalla it should be but I guess they assume people still don't have IPv6 routers.
Why shouldn't every lightbulb be a web server? Why shouldn't China know the state of every lightbulb in my house?
