"New Life"
This is a tiny killdeer precocial chick, just hatched today sometime in my neighborhood in Timnath, Colorado. It is in a nest that had two eggs in it, hopefully the second one (left of the chick) will hatch soon. This is a tight crop with a long lens, I am not as close as it might seem. I worked quickly and left immediately so as to minimize disturbances.
