Just putting this out there: I had an Epson v39 II scanner that wasn't recognized by a MacOS 12 MacBook I plugged it into no matter how many times I reloaded the drivers (and multiple versions of the drivers) in an Admin user account.

The fix: Create another user account, load the drivers in the second account. Log back into the main account. Printer works.
