In 'digital battlegrounds ' our publication on muslim women and their fight with online harrassment, Nabiya writes about how you can be a better ally for Muslim women facing harassment. It's a must read for all of us in India who are not muslim women.

Earlier this year we compiled experiences and hopes for the future of four muslim women through the document ' Digital Battlegrounds ' - it's a document where the women are talking about how they wish to fight back against hate and online harassment. #16days #onlinehate #india

#internetshutdowns have been known to promote misinformation. One way to fight misinformation is to provide credible sources of information. Journalism is important during the crucial time but it's very hard to report news during shutdowns. There are hardly any resources to communicate and verify information. India has one more long shutdown in the state of Manipur in 2023.
During that we supported a newsroom to identify a workflow for themselves to report securely.

great work by techno-feminist collective The Bachchao Project @tbp (via @info_activism)
"Our main goal is to help people develop & use Open-Source technologies that can advance the rights of women & LGBTQIA communities. People who build technological frameworks are largely disconnected from the communities using them. There is little understanding of the issues... no effort to make the technology palatable to the communities. Our work is to reduce this gap."
"It's only fair that the information about rights & suitable platforms is in formats everyone easily understands. This is where artists & creators can provide alternative approaches to communication".
